How to Set Up a Medical Group
Summary
Medical Group defines a group of physicians and other health care providers who have organized themselves to provide services. On the Medical Group their NPI is added and should be printed in box 33 on the CMS 1500 if the Provider is associated to the Medical Group.

Add a Medical Group
Medical groups are added from the Home Nav bar select Setup/Admin then select Providers. An additional sub nav bar opens select Medical Groups.

Select Add
The Enter Medical Group window opens

Enter Code (make this something easy to identify)

Enter the Name (associated with Code created)

Enter the Address, City, State, and Zip

Enter Telephone number
-
Enter Extension (if available)
-
Enter Fax (if available)
-
Enter FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number) (if available)

Enter NPI (if available)
-
Enter Specialty (if available)
-
Select Save
This Medical Group can be inactivated by checking the box next to Inactive
Add a provider to a medical group

On the Home Nav Bar, select Setup/Admin.

Select Providers

The Select Providers window opens
-
Search for and select the provider you want.

Select the magnifying glass beside the Medical Group field.

The Select Medical Groups window opens
-
Search for and highlight the correct group.

Click Select
-
Back on the Enter Provider window the Medical Group is now listed

Select Save
